Day 31
Yet again I did not have to go to the casting agency, so I drove up to Hollywood and went to see the Hollywood Bowl. Then I went over to Jimmy Kimmel and met Nikki Reed who was so nice and sweet she ignored all the paps and autograph seekers and focused on the fans which, made me really happy!

Day 32
Courtney and I went to Universal Studios and are now best friends, since we both want to be famous someday! We also saw the character Donkey and the guy inside the suit loved us and kept talking to us forever! Later that night I headed over to LAX to meet up with Heather who was only in LA for a few hours on her way to New Zealand! But it was so nice getting to see a friend from school! Then I went over to a comedy club with Cassandra to check out this comedian who raps his jokes, called DJ Mr. Napkins.

Day 33
Pauly was out of town but kept calling me every 5 minutes because I wasn't doing whatever it was he had me doing right, because he gives such vague instructions, which got really frustrating. But I did get two free shirts from work, shhh don't tell Pauly! I then bought Son In Law, which was Pauly's favorite film to make and watched it. I actually enjoyed it and though it was really funny!

Day 34
We only had a half day due to the holiday weekend, so after work I was so tired so I took a nap but then went with Cassandra to get her new bike. Afterward we went to In N Out and I got a grilled cheese which was quite tasty!

Day 35
Went to see Eclipse!!! LOVED IT! I cannot wait to see it again! After that I came back to my apartment to get ready for Lisa to come visit! And much later that night I went and picked her up from the airport! :)

Day 36
Lisa and I went to Venice Beach for the 4th. It was really crowded with lots of weird people, they even had a freak show with 23 two headed animals of some kind! We saw Muscle Beach and the huge beefed up people which I was really excited about! Lisa put her feet in the Pacific Ocean for the first time, it was really cold! That night we went over to Exposition Park to watch an hour long fireworks show!

Day 37
Went up to Hollywood to show Lisa the Stars and Grauman's Chinese Theater. We then went to the wax museum which was a lot of fun to take our pictures with all the celebs! It was like being a kid in a candy shop! Earlier while we were walking up the walk of fame Andy Milanakas walked by us and said "no pictures, no pictures" he was referring to the stars by the time we realized who it was he had already walked away, oh well...

Day 38
Finally I went into the casting office! Since we were preparing to cast a dog commercial they actually needed people and had stuff for me to do. But before work Lisa and I went to the Natural History Museum, I have never seen so many people crammed into one museum it was overwhelming! The main reason we went was to see the movie memorabilia like one of W.C. Fields hats, a hand written script by D.W. Griffith, Fred Astaire's tap shoes, and Walt Disney's desk from his childhood room where he first drew Mickey Mouse. But it was closed off! We did enjoy the rest of the museum despite that and all the people!

Day 39
Lisa and I went and did the Sony Pictures tour which was so good! We were both a little skeptical at first but it turns out Sony owns Columbia Pictures and Tristar Entertainment. Also the lot where Sony is now located use to be MGM. So I got to stand in the same recording stage where Judy Garland recorded Somewhere Over the Rainbow, also got to go to the stage where they filmed The Wizard of Oz, A Day at the Races, Cast Away, and many more. We got to visit the set of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. AND we saw Jonah Hill he waved and said "Hi" as he rode by in his golf cart. We also walked by Happy Madison productions which is Adam Sandler's production company we saw his car and golf cart but no Adam... That night we went to The Comedy Store, since I get in for free! We saw Bobby Lee who was so funny and some other comedians some were funny some weren't, I'm excited to see Pauly perform this weekend though!

Day 40
Pauly was in town this week, so of course the other intern called in sick! Now don't get me wrong I love working with Pauly but I do not love being the only intern. When I'm the only one there it just means I have to do all of Pauly's stuff and Dan's which is overwhelming but gives me a taste of the real world. My main task was making a master-list/excel sheet of every city and club Pauly has performed at in the last four years. But something exciting, Pauly finally remembered my name, I was working at my desk and I heard him say "Sydney?" like he wasn't sure if that was my name or not. Also Butter, Pauly's dog came into work she loved me and was laying at my feet all day.

Day 41
Yes!! Another intern came in and I was not left alone! We have just been so so busy at Pauly's it's been stressful. Didn't do anything exciting, had to help Pauly with a couple phone-in interviews but other than that my tasks were kind of boring. Just read a bunch of breakdowns which I do everyday (breakdowns are a list of up-coming movies and T.V.shows that are casting, they consist of characters, character descriptions and a summary of the project). When we had a lull between interviews since Pauly is still promoting Adopted everyone always ask him if he wants to adopt, which he doesn't. Anyway he started playing with my hair and was like "Maybe I should just adopt you. You've got my hair everyone would probably believe you were my child." We then talked about how my hair made him miss his old hairstyle from the 90's and how it made him want to grow it back. I think it might look silly on him now since he's older. Also, he discovered that I'm ticklish! Therefore he kept walking by and tickling me all day, especially my neck! After work I head over to a movie premiere of Lisa's mom's best friends cousin. The movie was called Stan, it was cute I liked it. Also we chose a very good place to sit right next to Mr. Laritate from Wizards of Waverly Place! We became very good friends he's actually coming to Wilmington at the end of august to work with some kids on acting we exchanged info and we're going to meet up when he comes to town. He's also teaching a class here in LA in two weeks and I can go for free! Very very exciting evening!

  1. Sydney, it was great to read about all the cool experiences you are having in Los Angeles. I have been to LA, and I love the city and its flair. It is such a fantastic opportunity to work at a casting agency, that must be a lot of fun. I am looking forward to read more of your adventures in California.
