First Days in LA

So with the numerous suggestions from my mom, and all the facebook comments containing questions I am starting a blog. I have never written a blog before so we'll see how long this last... I have been in LA for 13 days and here is a little recap,

Day 1
Arrived at LAX and when getting off the plan I saw that Kellan Lutz (Emmett from the Twilight movies) was on my flight. He was very nice, and super cute. He even said "hi" to Bennie (yes Bennie is in LA with me as well). After settling into the hotel my dad and I went over to the Santa Monica pier and had some drinks.

Day 2
Still being jet-lagged we woke up early so we took a drive in Beverly Hills. Let me tell you there is NO recession there, everyone has expensive cars and is rebuilding and expanding houses like there's no tomorrow. We then took a drive to find where my internships were located. I am working for Nancy Nayor casting, she's done a bunch of movies (feel free to look her up on imdb). Right now she's casting Scream 4 and Knights of Badassdom. I am also interning for Pauly Shore's production company. Yes, Pauly is my boss, he's very nice and really funny and although I've never seen one of his movies he is just like you'd expect him to be. We then headed over to the La Brea tar pit which is a tar pit that a bunch of mammals that are now extinct got stuck in and died. After that we went over to check out my new apartment which is two blocks from USC. We then drove down to Long Beach to see some old friends which was nice. For dinner we ate at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant, Spago, it was delicious! I once saw Sidney Poitier there when I was 12.

Day 3
After dropping dad off at the airport I headed over to Santa Monica beach with Chrissy to work on our tans. I told my mom it was like being in Mexico, nobody spoke English!

Day 4
Just spent the day settling in and hanging out at the apartment with Bennie.

Day 5
Woke up to find a parking ticket on my car, apparently they clean the streets here in LA. But it was my first day at Nancy Nayor, I made schedule's for actors to come in and audition and just learned the ropes. Got to meet Fred Armisen from SNL, had to tell him to move his car and got him a highlighter. Also saw Lacey Chabert who plays Gretchen in Mean Girls and was the voice of Eliza Thornberry in the Wild Thornberrys, she is so pretty.

Day 6
First day working for Pauly, again just did small stuff like emails, scanning stuff, and of course met Pauly.

Day 7
Second day working for Pauly, did some stuff to promote his new movie watched some clips he has coming out. It all looks pretty funny I'm excited to see the film. Ate lunch at Mel's Drive-In where they filmed American Graffiti and Guess Who's Coming To Dinner. Had the most amazing grilled cheese there! It had four types of cheese, so I'm for sure going back!

Day 8
My car, that was being shipped out, finally came so I had to take my rental to the return place. Simon and Rob came to pick me up we then went out to Islands and caught up over drinks and a late lunch. Then spent the rest of the night being lame and hanging out at the apartment since all my friends we either working or out of town.

Day 9
Was bored so I decided to go up to Hollywood Blvd and take a walk where all the stars are. Eventually made my way up to Grauman's Chinese Theater, got to see some of my favorite's like Cary Grant and the Marx Brothers. I also went a little crazy with picture taking... Later with nothing else to do I headed over to the MTV Movie Awards with hopes of seeing some celebs, and what happens? This guy gives me his afterparty pass so I got to go! It was awesome got to meet Twilight people as well as others, saw the cast of Jersey Shore (minus Snookie) and the cast of the Hills.

Day 10
Working again for Nancy, Alexa Vega from the Spy Kids movies came in to audition, and told me there is going to be a Spy Kids 4 movie. I guess if it keeps making money... I mean she came in to audition for Scream 4. Later that night headed over to The Grove with Cassandra and had drinks outside and watched a Bellagio type water show, then Christina came and met up with us when she got off work at Cheesecake Factory.

Day 11
Work for Nancy again, nobody that I recognized came into audition, had to go through this gigantic book with this girl to pick out leading actors. Then on my way back from work what do I come across but the True Blood premiere!!! So of course I parked and hurried over to see what was going on and got to see and meet loads of people! It was so cool!

Day 12
My day off, so I went to see what was going on around town and found the new Tom Hanks movie. I was talking to a couple crew guys and telling them how I was a film major so they let me on set. Met George Takei, he is very nice but didn't do the star trek hand thing for me. Also met Maria Canals-Barrera, who is on Disney Channel. She is so nice and super sweet. Then Tom Hanks, now he was very busy because he is the director, producer, writer, and star of the film. He wasn't even suppose to take a picture with me but did anyway, I only got to talk to him for a minute because he was so swamped but he was very nice and friendly. After that exciting event I came back to my apartment to have a nice evening just hanging out with my roomie.

Day 13
Thursday, work for Pauly day, Pauly is in New York promoting his new movie so the office was pretty quiet today. Didn't do much today but some random tasks and just hung out and talked with the other employees. Had lunch down the street at Carney's which is a fastfood type restaurant that is a traincar that has been converted into a restaurant, Mel's is way better! Then met Lucas Till from the Hannah Montana Movie, he was also in Taylor Swift's music video and Walk the Line. I also saw Beau Mirchoff, he plays Danny Bolen, Angie's son on Desperate Housewives.

Now I'm sitting at the apartment writing this blog. Wow it's long! But that has been my 13 days in LA so far. Stuff I have coming up is the Toy Story 3 premiere on Sunday, and tickets to see Ashley Greene on Jimmy Kimmel Live in a couple weeks.
